Fluid tracking for every inpatient
The new fluids chart tab provides a clear and organized way to monitor fluid balance throughout the patient’s stay. Once the patient is admitted to your facility, you can easily track fluids consumed or injected and those leaving the body, like urine or vomit. Each fluid intake and output is added as its own record to provide more accurate tracking.
Easy-to-use fluid data chart
Fluid intake and output records are necessary to maintain the patient’s hydration status and detect imbalances early. The LinkHMS fluids chart tab makes it simple for staff to record a patient’s fluid intake and output. They just need to select fluid type, enter quantity, route, and add notes if required.
Fluid history by admission day
LinkHMS organizes and groups all added fluid records by date for easier review. Every admission day displays the total fluid intake, output, and the total measured balance. The full overview presents all daily fluid records with details in one place so that you can track the patient’s fluid history during their stay.
System-calculated daily fluid balance
The LinkHMS new functionality comes with daily totals to monitor the inpatient’s fluid balance. It’s easy to have a clear overview with the short summary of the liquid input and output for the specific date. It displays positive balances in green with a “+” sign and negative balances in red with a “–” sign. The proper fluid tracking helps maintain patient stability and supports faster recovery.
Fluid data integrity
The LinkHMS team added extra functionality to prevent accidental loss of information and to make all changes easy to track. Therefore, fluid records cannot be deleted but can be excluded if entered by mistake. Any excluded records will appear grayed out, and the system automatically adjusts total calculations.
Mobile-optimized functionality
Since nurses often move between patients, the fluids chart is fully optimized for mobile use. Fields are arranged vertically for simple data entry on smaller screens, and summaries are shown in compact “quick info cards” for easy reference. This design enables fast, convenient access right at the patient’s bedside.
